i saw someone who had children in their dislikes, and then all the reasons they disliked children
(people have too many of them, only used as fashion dolls or for attention on social media, etc.) were
things their parents do. see this is why i hate adults
do you think when a guardian turns a certain age in the seichi a guardian gets super special clothes?
or is it just the oldest who get them? because clavis and julious are rather fancily dressed. i mean,
irl, character-design wise, i'm sure it was just "they're light and dark, the most basic things, so we're
making them the oldest and most gaudily dressed," but i mean, in-world. because when you look at art of
them younger they aren't dressed super fancy.
so to combine these, i would assume that only the guardians of light and dark get super epic fancy ultra rare
clothes, and they only get them after a certain age. so now i wonder if it's there's a celebration for that or not.
if their home cultures said reaching a certain age is a big deal i'm sure seichi would accomodate... plus they're men;
many cultures have initiations and etc. for them to mark adulthood due to the typical lack of a period, a clear marker
of a new era in life... hm hm hm much to think about
i was thinking of changing this cringeblog into a general microblog, keeping dreamwidth as my
Big Blog (for long writing; things i think would be a chore to read here). i found someone's
script to make a microblog, and i
spent 3? days trying to get it to work before realizing i needed to give it up. it required
coding too advanced for someone like me. i dont even have linux.
so then, i was thinking about using 11ty. it looks so complicated, and thinking about getting it
to do what i want made my gears churn (likely because i just overclocked them for 3 days trying
to get that other impossible thing to work), but since so many ppl use SSGs it's probably
not as hard as it looks, right?
but then while surfing the web i just so happened to read a few articles about Building Websites
to Last. and one mentioned that depending on SSGs and their communities meant it'd be that
much harder to fix things that go wrong myself.
maybe i'm just tired and lazy, but i've decided to keep coding the cringeblog as i am
now. i just need to rebrand it as a microblog, and i want to change how it looks... i cleaned up
my phone a little last night and deleted noplace, but
i like how noplace looks so i took some screenshots with the idea of ripping off the design xD
anyways, posts below this but above the post about testament dancing are thoughts i jotted down
while i was trying to figure out how to handle coding this thing. i wonder if i should find a
way to make bootleg tag system 🤔 let's see, and i need an rss, i theoretically need a link
for every post in case ppl wanna link to em individually but. nahhhhh. i want to number the
posts (easy identification)... etc etc
look. i don't want to sound elitist. i really don't. but in the past few days i have seen
numerous people say they thought inuyasha was shoujo or that they're surprised to learn it
isn't, as if the universe knows it irks me and keeps making it pop up to poison damage me.
i just feel like its pretty obvious inuyasha is a shonen and not shojo. i'm sorry. mistaking it
for shoujo is such a rookie mistake. we should all know shonen manga is perfectly capable of
being of the romance subgenre. it has many big hits that are romance, even! like kimagure orange
road or some shit, idk, look i'm not a shonenhead okay.
and i don't mean to sound like "all shoujo looks the same," but like, c'mon man. look at it.
look at inuyasha for me. you think that's shoujo? their eyes aren't sparkly at all, for one thing. (and, if it
were shoujo, the fights would be used to make inuyasha look super cool and awesome and manly
since he's the love interest, but i've never got that feeling from him, LMAO. you know who gets
that treatment? sesshomaru. but i'm not sure how much is actually in the manga and how much is
the anime staff appealing to the female fanbase, because i've never read all of
inuyasha.)
(fun fact: the day after i wrote this i saw a tumblr post talking about how isekai used to be
for girls and now it's all male power fantasy video game knowledge jerkoff fests, and they
included a picture of inuyasha as an example of good classic joseimuke isekai, and i wanted to
reach through the screen and shake them)
i don't use tiktok. my friend sent me this. you'll never guess who i thought of.
if it was up to me and i had to give testament a dance-related hoby, it would've been pole
dancing. but sometimes when i see bellydancing i see why the staff (character designer? who
decides hobbies) would've thought of this too. assuming they were being pure of heart. i don't
know about other people, but when i first saw that their hobby was bellydancing i thought of how
every gacha game has to have the obligatory orientalist (@middle east and kind of india) banner,
and how they seem to think every woman dresses (or dressed, pre-islam) like a stereotypical
bellydancer, so i wasn't very impressed. but when i use the mental image "mom introducing new
things to her workout routine" i'm less :/ about it. it gets a little silly then actually :3
that said, the guy in the tiktok is in an anubis-themed outfit so there's definitely some
orientalism going on there. but nice moves! makes me wish i could animate... not many people
draw tes bellydancing... do they not know they like it? since obviously (enough) japanese people
LOVE their little disney's aladdinesque banners you would think there'd be a lot of art on pixiv
or something, but there isn't. elsewhere in the world i think it's because it's lowkey giving
cultural appropriation, but i'm sure bellydancing isn't a closed practice, and i feel like the
consensus on it is "be respectful." it didn't give me the ICK when i saw they like doing it, but
i was like.... yknow..... i guess i was mistrustful of the devs' intentions. still am. but. i
can still draw tes being respectful about it if i'm being respectful about it too, even
if someone else was thinking "sexy desert jewel cosplay🤤" (chris decides not to speak on how
many goths love things that are ~exotic~ and ~different~ and ~specficially not white~ and how it
can't be said they're known for being respectful about it)
and i've wanted to draw them on the pole for a long time, but i used to fear that no matter how
i go about it, everyone who saw would assume that i drew it solely to get off, since people can
be weird about poledancing. i don't really fear that anymore since i can just leave it on my
personal website :33 but i actually have a drawing queue and i won't be able to draw tes for
another 5 drawings 👍🏾 wish me luck
1. while making the post below i had to look up what the power of darkness does to factcheck
myself, and
transcript
["Angelique" is a game made in the 90s, so it reflects the trend of beautiful fantasy
character design at that time, and there are so many long-haired boys that it would be
surprising to see from a modern perspective. The super long hair that used to be Clavis, the
divine bird's guardian of darkness. In the CD jacket picture above, it is long enough, but
in her earliest works, she almost reached the floor had Haiean woman hair that . Even though
they have super long hair that you don't see these days, Julius's golden curls shine like
light itself, while Clavis' black hair falls straight and heavy like a waterfall made of
obsidian. I insist on seeing it.]
(This is a bad machine translation, by the way. But worry not, even the original Japanese
makes me hard.)
why did
they have to
put it like that. had to type the rest of the post while hard for no reason 💔💔💔💔 "Clavis'
black hair falls straight and heavy like a waterfall made of obsidian"
[their_writing_is_this_fire.jpg]
2. (unrelated to clavis) last night, i had an idea: putting on character shrines how many times
you've jacked off to the character. you can even add a seperate tally for how many times you
nutted to em à la the rule34 website ^_^!! i dont think i could do this. i'm not brave enough.
(also ermmmm i dare not defile myself, i just know others do it 🙄) but someone else should
steal this idea. pleeeeeease it would be so funny
iwish the clavis artist hadn't nerfed his bang length so the resemblance would be even greater,
but..............!!!!!!!
they have a lot in common; i really want to draw them together. there's a lot of things i want
to draw though... i wish i drew faster. or i should dedicate a day to staying the hell off the
computer so i Have to draw (or read or game).
but bascially, listen. they kind of look the same, except clavis is a little taller and his eyes
are smaller. and clavis isn't built like a triangle. if using ML tes as the point of comparison
then their bodies are probably more similar, but clavis has more shoulder. #seme. and i think of
pre-strive Tes as being bony, but clavis has servants and friends nearby who would make him eat
even if he's too depressed to care.
they both preside over death! for tes i think it's just an aesthetic thing; they're probably not
actually the grim reaper... probably seemed that way to all the people they killed, but like,
you can say that about any (mass) murderer. clavis may not have a scythe, but he is the guardian
of darkness. his sacrea brings peace, but also! it brings the most eternal peace of all 😌 so he
also kills people, although i wonder if the deaths in question are all from illness or suicide
since the others guardians' power Also can bring death (ex. too much water creates floods, which
*gasp* kill people)
they're both sad, lonely, lonely little inidividuals. tes gets better! so tes may not be
associated w that image anymore. clavis also gets better. i felt he was a little less cold in
etoile, so one must assume that limoges and colette's prescence were just so awesome that they
kinda fixed him. (what does this say about dia?) you may point out that tes was never Alone
because they had their familiars, but clavis wasn't either because he always had the other
guardians, especially luva and lumiale, and that's not even getting into the servants. and i
suppose he had the queen aide too, although they don't show dia interacting with them a lot?
those are a bunch of humans and clavis still acted the way he did, so maybe he should have been
a little grateful that at least he's not testament who post-dizzy, pre-movingtothevillage, only
had Creatures of dubious linguistic abilities (/JOKE btw)
i'm going to end this by saying........... they share some hobbies :) clavis likes tarot and
scrying via crystal ball and star-gazing :) tes likes star-gazing and fortune-telling :))
twinninggggg. and tes has lots of outdoor hobbies besides that, so they could become his friend
via the previously listed hobbies and then make him grow as a person by slowly sucking him into
some more active stuff. tes doesn't have to fix anyone, of course, but :) yknow :) we can hold
someone's hand as we help them back to their feet once they decide they're ready to stand up,
can't we? :D :) :3 :3c :p ^_-
